My daughter is applying to this conference.  Is anyone else here going to try to get in?  And does anyone know how difficult it is to be accepted?  It says there will be a maximum of 60 students allowed in but I don't know what kind of interest there is in applying.

She says it is $50 to apply but if you don't get in you don't get your application fee back.  Is that correct?  I couldn't find any information about that on the website.  The total cost of the colloquium isn't definite, it says between $100-$150 depending on the number of students attending, so the application fee seems pretty high in comparison to the total fee.  Maybe it is just to deter applicants that aren't really serious about going?  If she does get in, is the application fee then applied towards the total cost?  There really isn't a lot of info available on the areas of the IMEA website that I was able to view.

I hope she gets in...it's a little expensive for a "maybe" this time of year, know what I mean?  Plus she's really excited about the possibility of going!
