2012 BOA Indy Regional
« on: May 10, 2012, 09:56:25 AM »

Any new faces to the BOA Indy Regional this year?  It's going to be a 2 day event...  I'm guessing there are many more Indiana bands signed up thus far.

If BOA would get their butts in gear and post regional lists, this would be much easier.  :)  From the people I've talked to, there's 40+ signed up for this regional.

I've compiled a very short and tentative list of bands that have Indianapolis on their public calendar.  For the first time in almost 20 years, Lake Park (IL) will not be in attendance.

Beech Grove, IN
Center Grove, IN
Columbus North, IN
DeKalb, IN
Downers Grove South, IL
Forest Park, IN
Greenwood, IN (tentative)
Lake Central, IN
Lawrence Central, IN
Lincoln-Way East, IL
Marian Catholic, IL
Morristown, IN
Munster, IN
Normal West, IL
Northwestern, IN
Penn, IN
Plymouth-Canton Ed. Park, MI
Springs Valley, IN
Victor J. Andrew, IL

Wow Dan, that's big news regarding Lake Park.  I'm going to miss them this year.  Can we assume that they'll be at Grand Nats?

They'll be at GN.  They're also just going to St. Louis this year instead of Indianapolis (even though St. Louis is 100 miles further and might be a bit tougher, but whatever.)

Thanks Dan, I'll look forward to seeing them at GN then.  It will be strange at Indy however... Good Luck to them at St. Louis, hope they do well..

Add Franklin Central as a tentative to this list. It is on the calendar as of now, but it could change.

It is exciting to see 9 of the 10 Class A State Finalists competing in this event!

Now if only Homestead would commit, WOW what a show it would be. We'd have the best of the best from BOA mixing it up with the best of the best from ISSMA.... and certainly hands down, this would be the best marching band event I've personally seen outside of a Grand Nationals lineup.

(I'd like to extend an invitation to Lewis Cass as well. Come on out and join the fun!)

I wish Goshen was competing in the indy super regional...looks like an amazing line up with lots of our Class B competition. Not to mention a chance to perform in LOS before state. :) But, I am still just happy we are doing the Pontiac regional AND Grand Nats this year! Sooooo excited! :D

Beech Grove, Edgewood, Maconaquah, Norwell, Twin Lakes, and Western...six extremely good class C bands.  I can't wait to see how they stack up, especially against the strong class D bands like Forest Park, Paoli, and Springs Valley.  Great to see Maconaquah back at a BOA event.  Hopefully it won't be another decade before they come back this time.   :D

It would also be awesome to see Northview and Jasper join in the mix.

The exciting thing for this competition is everyone being scored across the board from the same sheet and no sliding scale.

Twin Lakes is SUPER excited about this opportunity! Should be a very very fun day indeed!
