Trumpet/Winds/Marching Tech Available For 2012-13
« on: November 04, 2011, 09:07:19 PM »

Hello!  My name is Gillianne M. Rountree I am a Junior level college student at Marian University pursuing my bachelors in arts and teaching.  I am currently active in the Marian music program marching band, concert band and brass ensemble.  I graduated in 2003 from Ben Davis High School and was an active jazz/concert/marching student.  I have achieved an Associates Degree in General Studies from Valencia Community College.  I participated with the University of Louisville marching band for three years, as well as their concert and jazz band.  I am a trumpet player and have been since 1999.  I am experienced in instructing and playing brass and woodwind instruments, marching band, concert band, jazz band, solo playing as well as small ensembles.  I have prior volunteer experience with teaching marching students with proper marching style and technique as well as playing style and sound.  I have prior mentoring experience with pre-teens and teenage students.  I also have attended various leadership classes and seminars throughout my musical career to better understand what it is to be an effective leader.

I am actively seeking a tech position for this upcoming marching season, with hopes to teach trumpet lessons in the spring.  I would like to be able to utilize my abilities to teach those who enjoy music how to get the best out of their band experience.  Music is a very important aspect of these students' lives, and I strive to help them to become the best individuals they can be all while having fun during the process.  My hope is to find a seasonal position that could possibly become more permanent in the long run.  I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
Gillianne M. Rountree
