We also were curious about the specific results.

By the way, it was a treat to see your show.  Your band is awesome and well deserved of its reputation and awards the past few years!  Hope to see Madisonville at some of the So Indiana competitions in the coming years!

I heard some "rumor numbers" having Castle 79, FJ Reitz 74, Forest Park 72 and no word on the Maroons but I am guessing 82+ you guys were really awesome!

... someone with real figures chime in!

On a Kentucky marching forum, they had Madisonville 81.7, Castle 79.3 (no others listed though)

The rumor number I had was 79.1 on Castle, 74.6 for FJ Reitz and 72.4 for Forest Park... to be exact :)

Really proud of our Reitz kids! We expected The great Castle band to shine being a top 10 class A band and 6-time-in-a-row state champ Madisonville to awe us, but the new visual stuff at Reitz and the music really was performed well!

Thanks Life in Paradise.  I really appreciate your kind comments.  Your band is extremely awesome as well and there is no doubt in my mind after seeing their performance why they have such a great tradition and history of winning. Your show this year is phenomenal.  I really like the show concept.  I wish you all the best with the rest of your season  :D

I was extremely impressed with FJ Reitz and thought they had a flawless performance.  I loved the Cello.  That is something you don't hear or see very often, especially incorporated into a marching show.  Very classy addition.

Not flawless :) (That is the game plan this week!)
I am happy to see Madisonville doing so great... I was a Henderson (Ky) tuba 1983, 84, 85. Way back then we were the "poo" around here!

I remember my junior year winning the Reitz and Castle contests, and as we entered the field at Castle a very classy Madisonville Band stood and applauded for us!
27 years ago and I still see them standing, clapping. It makes me smile.

Know that your actions today remain forever!
Now, go win the KY state championship again!

Thank you for sharing that with me.  My wife actually marched in Madisonville's band during those years you mentioned.  She has told me several times how awesome the Henderson band was back then.  They definitely had tons of respect for Henderson during her time in band.  You are right--actions today remain forever in our minds.  I am proud to know that the Madisonville band of the 80's had the same integrity that is still being taught by our current directors.  I appreciate you sharing this and for all your kind comments. This was the first time in my 9 years as a band parent that we attended an Indiana contest.  I must say that the experience was a positive one and that I am very impressed with how professional and courteous everyone has been here in Indiana.  Hopefully our directors will start coming to more competitions on the north side of the river.
Regarding the KMEA State Competition, we are certainly hopeful that our group can bring home #7 this year.  It gets harder every year...class 4A in KY is more competitive now than ever.  My oldest son (who is now Assistant Director at Adair Co HS in Columbia KY) was a senior back in 2005 when Madisonville won their first state championship.  We hoping for two state championships this year (Adair and Madisonvillle).   :D
