But....ISSMA does mention photography along with videotaping in their disclaimer as being prohibited.

I concur with Mallets and Nick...my experience with Class C has been similar.  But one thing I can guarantee, even a venue as large as Ben Davis will be packed when the finalists are announced!

Arrrgghh!   Facebook!  I didn't even think about that.  Maybe that's draining people's personal posting quotas.  I was also going to mention your other point as well.  That's probably as big of a reason as any.   :glare:

I'll defer to someone with more expertise than I have, but I think they would have to move indoors and do a stand-still if conditions posed a danger in any way.  Wind and rain alone would probably keep it outside as long as the field was turf.

Please clarify...

Now all we need is for people to actually start posting again.

We have so many users online and barely any posting lately. Come on people, this could be the last year IM.com is around unless the participation picks up. There really is no point for this area without an active Community. Thanks!

I have wondered about the marked decline in banter this year.  It's hard to figure out.  Especially this time of year, it seems like these boards would be flooded with new posts as they were in previous years.  Even if it can be attributed to active users 'moving on' with their lives, one would think there would be someone new to the activity joining in that would keep the momentum going. C'mon kids!  Step right up; don't be afraid; the wonderful world of Indiana Marching is counting on you!

General Marching Related Discussion / Re: Understanding the results
« on: October 16, 2011, 02:15:02 AM »
Without looking at the results and knowing placings it is extremely difficult to understand anything ISSMA does.  I mean when an organization threatens with CIA and FBI agents for the release of scores...........I choose not to try to understand it or support it with my hard earned money.  I opt to support organizations that put everything on the table and people are actually held accountable.  I mean even in school we weren't just told we get a "Gold Star" good job and now go home.  We were given a numerical grade.

Occupy IM.com....Matt Bonfield and staff do a great job of keeping this community together with the most informed marching band website in the world, with subsets of coverage of other events.

This is why I am choosing to attend other events that are truly with the people, for the people, and because of the people.

Amen, Bryan....and (for now at least) I will leave it at that.

Ahhh Mr. Mathews, we meet up again. If you have not seen our show yet I hope you will be pleased and entertained.  As always, thank you for your support. Everybody loves an underdog, don't they?:) Just hoping one of these year we actually get to be a contender.

Yes...saw you guys week one but looking forward to seeing you next week.

At least I can keep my fingers crossed we will both be at Decatur Central next week.  I'm trying not to count any unhatched chickens before tomorrow afternoon   ;)

ISSMA: Class C Discussion / Re: Prayers Go out to Knox
« on: October 11, 2011, 06:06:47 PM »
Wow...anyone who knows me knows I don't show a lot of emotion, but this honestly chokes me up reading this.  I think Devon is right...Knox may just have their best performance on Saturday; laying it down in memory of Drew.  My deepest sympathies lie with Drew’s family, friends, and the Knox program.  I can't even imagine....

Those of you who predicted the North seem to be right on.

There will be 4 unhappy bands whose season will come to a stop Saturday.

I wish everyone the best of luck and to bring all that you have. You never really know who will make it until they have announced the finalists. Thanks to all the fans who have made positive comments about Twin Lakes. For quite a few years we have seems to come just a hair short of state finals. Hope to see you all in Chesterton.

I'm rooting for you guys too, Christine.  Twin Lakes in C and Morristown in D have been my 'underdog' favorites for a number of years now.  But you are correct...you never really know what will happen (Danville not getting out of district??  )

Good luck to everyone at Regionals!
