BOA Indy Regional
« on: October 19, 2012, 09:22:22 PM »

Anyone have any predictions on the bands moving on to finals, and/or just want to comment about the regional itself?

For me, I just want to start and say that it was awesome being able to perform at Lucas Oil today.  LN hasn't participated in BOA since 2007, and I was very excited to be able to participate today.  I also don't have much of an opinion on the outcome, considered many of the bands are out of state, and I really have no knowledge of them.  So I will appreciate any comments on this!
2009- First Star I See Tonight; Pit
2010- The Land of...; Snare
2011- Imaginarium; Back Ensemble Section Leader
2012- The First Circle- Center Snare (State- 10th Place)

I really enjoyed all the performances I saw today, including our own. But my favorites of what I saw were : Carmel, Franklin Central, Beech Grove, Columbus North, and Greenwood. Needless to say all the performances were great.

I attended on Friday afternoon to see the first grouping of bands starting with Tell City.  I wanted to give them a shout-out for doing a great job in starting off the competition.  I really enjoyed your show, and got a kick out of the different flags and how they fit in with the theme.  And a shout-out to your parents and supporters as well.  You may be one of the smallest bands this weekend, but I could see that a lot of work and dedication went into supporting your show.  Some of us from bigger bands have so many parents and supporters to draw from, that someone always steps up and does what is needed.  But a small band must really pull together as a family to support each other, as I'm sure must be the case for your group.  Keep up the great work!

And another shout out to Lawrence North as well.  I've read some very nice things about your band in these forums, but this was the first time I got to see you perform.  Very impressive!  These competitions are very tough, and I'm a novice to scoring, but I would not be at all surprised to see you playing again Saturday night.  Either way, I thought your show was great!
