IM.com 2010 Preseason Writer's Poll!
« on: September 06, 2010, 08:43:23 PM »

Staying true to releasing our Pre-Season poll as a "forum only" release... here we go!

How are the rankings determined?

Each voting member submits his/her top 15 bands. The first place band receives 15 votes, the second place band receives 14 votes, the third place band receives 13 votes, and so on and so forth. Voting for 15 bands will now ensure proper representation of groups otherwise not listed within the Top 10 of the rankings, but generally close to the ranks who are seldom recognized. It is important to realize the poll consists of not only opinions, but insights, knowledge, first hand experiences, years of involvement in the marching activity, instructional positions, and the observation of both recent and past performances which allow the entire panel to vote in this poll as accurately as possible.

For a full overview of the rules (updated for 2010), please Click Here.

We will "pre-release" each new weekly poll on Monday evenings in our Chat Room beginning on September 13th, 2010 at 9:00 PM. This will be followed up by the official release each Tuesday morning on the site menu.

The Writer's Poll is only done for bands that are competing in ISSMA. After State Finals, when we do our polls for the BOA Indy Regional and Grand Nationals, Carmel will be in the poll.

<sarcasm>

Seth, how do you know Carmel will be in the poll?  Is the poll rigged so they'll be in it, or can you read the future?  CONSPIRACY!!!
